Early detection and prevention are the foundation of long-term wellness. Because dentists see patients more frequently than most medical providers, they are uniquely positioned to identify systemic risk factors before disease progresses. Incorporating blood testing into dental care supports truly patient-centered treatment by aligning oral health with whole-body health and expanding access to preventive screening.

Dr. Hugh Coyne, MBBS, BSc, General Practitioner and co-founder of Coyne Medical in London, shares how in-office blood testing can transform dental visits into powerful opportunities for early disease detection and improved patient outcomes. He demonstrates how dentists can seamlessly integrate testing into daily practice to enhance safety, treatment planning and overall patient health.

Blood testing provides valuable clinical data that strengthens:

  • Risk assessment

  • Treatment planning

  • Perioperative management

  • Patient safety

By integrating laboratory insights into dental workflows, clinicians can reduce complications, improve outcomes and deliver more comprehensive, medically informed care.
